Cayman National Corporation Ltd.  (“CNC”) announces that J.F. Richard Hew and Ian Tibbetts have joined the Cayman National Bank Ltd. (“CNB”) and CNC Board of Directors, effective February 2026.

Mr. Hew is a seasoned utility executive with over 35 years of industry experience, including over 20 years as President & CEO of Caribbean Utilities Company, Ltd. (CUC), a publicly traded, regulated electric utility. He specialises in infrastructure resilience, renewable energy, capital markets, and public utility operations, with a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and community service in the Cayman Islands.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida and an MBA from Wilfred Laurier University. Richard is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida and serves on the Boards of non-profit organisations Caring for Life Foundation and Cayman Youth Football Leagues. His previous board experiences includes Newfoundland Power, CARILEC, Fortis Turks and Caicos and several local organisations.

Mr. Tibbetts is a senior executive with significant public and private sector experience, with a career of more than 40 years in telecommunications, information technology, and public-sector digital transformation. 

Ian has served as Director of the eGovernment Unit/Department since 2014 and, since May 2024, as Registrar of the Identification Register for the Cayman Islands Government, leading secure digital services, e‑government strategy, IT security, and the rollout of the Identification Register and My eID Cayman Islands Identification Card. He is also an entrepreneur and former senior Cable & Wireless executive with experience in customer experience, operations, and sales.
