Ian Tibbetts

Ian Tibbetts is a senior executive with significant public and private sector experience, with a career of more than 40 years in telecommunications, information technology, and public-sector digital transformation. 

Since December 2014 Ian has served as Director of the of eGovernment Unit/Department and since May 2024 additionally as the Registrar of the Identification Register at the Cayman Islands Government. Implementation of secure and efficient online services and customer/user experience are principal focus areas. His public sector experience includes the development and implementation of e-government strategy, driving improvements in IT security, the implementation of online services, and the introduction of the Identification Register and My eID Cayman Islands Identification Card.

He has been an entrepreneur in various industries from boat repair and parts supply, to electrical installation and repairs, and solar sales and installation. 

He has held senior roles in Cable and Wireless in the Cayman Islands and regionally, focusing on customer experiences, operations, and sales.
