Cayman National Corporation Ltd. ("CNC") announces the retirement of Directors Mr. Clarence Flowers and Mrs. Sherri Bodden-Cowan following 24 years of dedicated service to the organisation, and the appointment of Mrs. Caroline Barton to the Cayman National Bank Ltd. ("CNB") and CNC Boards of Directors.
Mr. Flowers and Mrs. Bodden-Cowan joined the Cayman National Boards in 2002 and have played an integral role in the organisation's governance and oversight during a period marked by growth, industry change and evolving customer needs. They both served as Directors for Cayman National Corporation Ltd. and Cayman National Bank Ltd. Their long-standing service has contributed to the strength and stability of the Group and supported its continued focus on serving the Cayman Islands community.
“We are very grateful to Clarence Flowers Jr. and Sherri Bodden-Cowan for over two decades of dedicated service to Cayman National,” said Mrs. Janet Hislop, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cayman National. “Their commitment, guidance and steadfast support have helped strengthen our organisation and contributed meaningfully to our success over the years. We sincerely thank them for their many contributions and the lasting impact they have made on Cayman National, and we wish them every success and happiness in the future.”
As Cayman National welcomes a new chapter in its Board leadership, Mrs. Barton joins the Board with extensive experience in corporate law and business advisory services. As a partner in Appleby's Corporate department in the Cayman Islands, she advises on a broad range of matters, including structured finance, asset and project finance, corporate and fund finance, capital markets transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.
She holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Bristol and completed the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School. Mrs. Barton was admitted as an attorney in the Cayman Islands in 2006 and is also a Notary Public in the Cayman Islands. In addition to her professional legal experience, Mrs. Barton has previously served as a Board member of the Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands and is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association.
Mr. Nigel Baptiste, Chairman of the CNC and CNB Boards of Directors, said:
"We are pleased to welcome Caroline Barton to the Boards. Her extensive experience across corporate law, finance, capital markets and complex commercial transactions, together with her strong governance background, brings valuable perspective and insight to the Group. We look forward to her contribution as we continue to evolve and deliver long-term value for our customers, shareholders and the wider Cayman Islands community."
Mrs. Barton's appointment follows the addition of Mr. Richard Hew and Mr. Ian Tibbetts to the CNC and CNB Boards earlier in 2026, further strengthening Cayman National’s breadth of expertise and experience.
