The event which was held at Camana Bay on Saturday January 15th was the 2nd Annual Charity Walk/Run organized by Cayman National and received the support of over 400 registrants, with almost 300 of these showing up to participate in the event.

The Cayman Islands Diabetes Association (CIDA) was formed in 1987 with a relaunched in 2000 by the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA) and the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens. The Trustee is Cayman National Trust Co. Ltd, and according to the Advisory Board, the work of the Trust would be, in many ways, a continuation of the ongoing work of the Cayman Diabetic Support Group (DSG).

"Cayman National’s decision to organize this event on an annual basis is as a result of our awareness of the many needs within our community," said Claudia Welds, Corporate Communication Executive. "Each year we will identify 2 charities to support and look forward to many successful events. We were extremely pleased with the response and level of registrations, and anticipate the continued support of the public," she said.

In addition to those who supported through registrations acknowledgement is made of the corporate supporters: Camana Bay, Massive Equipment, Flowers Bottle Water, Progressive Distributors and FSH Design, and the support of Cayman Active.
