Cayman National donates to the Sister Islands Community Care Association

10 August 2010

Cayman National recently made a donation to the Sister Islands Community Care Association (S.I.C.C.A), a not-for-profit registered company, whose members primarily reside in Cayman Brac. The Centre provides care for elderly residents of the Brac and Little Cayman community who are no longer able to look after themselves in their own homes. After the devastation of Hurricane Paloma, in November 2008, there was considerable damage to the original building so that it could not be used. Most of the beds and equipment were destroyed.

The S.I.C.C.A has been working towards re-opening the building with repairs and some necessary alterations being completed earlier this year. The remaining obstacle was a lack of beds and room furnishings therefore Mrs. Sadie Dilbert, an enthusiastic member of the Association undertook the task to raise funds to acquire the necessary items. The donation from Cayman National will go a long way in this regard. Zanda Scott, Cayman Brac Branch Manager said "I am happy that our organization can give back to the Sister Islands community especially to this facility which is of great importance to the elderly."
