Cayman National

Help for Haiti

3 February 2010

Cayman National has joined the global response to help meet the needs of the people of Haiti who are victims of the recent catastrophic earthquake which devastated the country. In making a financial donation through the Florida Association for Volunteer Action in the Caribbean and the Americas (FAVACA), Cayman National is helping with the provision of training and technical assistance to persons in Haiti. This type of assistance is critical in developing sustainability in the socio-economic fabric of the Haitian society.

Cayman National's staff have also raised funds which will be donated to local Red Cross for the relief effort and staff have expressed interest in providing clothing, food and other essentials when the logistics allow for these donations.

"We are all saddened by the human suffering in Haiti and feel moved to respond to the needs of the Haitian people. As an organization, we have and continue to focus our attention on meeting needs at home in the Cayman Islands but an event of this magnitude does require all of us to respond even outside of our borders," stated Mr. Stuart Dack, Cayman National's President and Chief Executive.

Cayman National's subsidiary, International Banking Group in the Turks and Caicos Islands will also be making a donation to FAVACA and the Turks and Caicos Red Cross.
